In Travail, 1-2 players take on the roles of heroes tasked with the unbearable weight of destiny. From deep within his bastion, Sariel, the Fallen Aster unmakes the natural order and brings that which should not be into this world. Fallen angels not meant for this world are manifesting, and if left unchecked, their blasphemous actions might unmake all of creation.
Engage in dynamic and strategic card-based combat, levelling your hero as you do battle with Heaven’s banished, level up your hero, and face down Sariel to put a final end to his madness.
In this rogue-like cooperative deck-building journey, players will begin each run by drawing Trail cards to generate a random path through Sariel’s bastion. Each Trail card links to a unique combat encounter, found within Travail’s campaign book. Starting with a basic set of moves and attacks, players must fight their way through Sariel's hordes and unlock more powerful cards as they progress.
Death is never the end in Travail, as each run, no matter how fruitful, will award players with currency to spend and unlock more cards for their hero.
